The NetWork

Volume 1, Issue 4: Caliente! Escape for Summer 2004

Although we usually scribe more provocative and sometimes controversial writings for The NetWork, we balance the scale with a heavy dose of "lightheartedness" in our summer edition.

Alas, it is time to escape:
From school.
From work.
From the monotony...
...it's time to go global.

So let's ride this issue manually and hit the freeway- pop in your favorite CD in the disc changer.
Let's see...think I'll rock Red Hot Chili Peppers' By The Way album.

Let's rev the engine and hit the clutch:

1st gear- We welcome our newest partner, Manhattan GMAT, after our members raved about their impressive GMAT prep services. They're offering a discount to our members and valuable info. on our site. The bell has rung for prospectives. Read their article-GMAT 101.

Also, Accepted.com, one of our earlier partners, is now offering our members a 10% discount for a limited time. View their dedicated page to us here. Thanks, Linda for the ongoing luv and support!

Slide into 2nd- The Sports section gets a slam dunk by Marquis, complete with nostalgic references to Kurtis Blow. Bemoaning basketball's current state of affairs, Marquis wistfully remembers a more passionate luv of the game.

Up into 3rd gear- Angela "rests her case" on the Art of Packing. You'll find tips any business traveler will appreciate.

4th gear is fast and funky- one of our newest writers, Stephen, is also a new father. His review of Prince's Musicology Tour is written with such vivid conviction... any Prince fan will agree that he has done this musical genius justice.

We hit the highway, or should I say the skyway, in fifth gear. Globe trekking is part of the B-school experience and epitomizes the concept of escapism. Please welcome Kevin Ferrell (Michigan), another new writer of The NetWork, and Diana Lozano (Olin), an MBA Diversity Weblogger, who get instant cred with impressive passports to some of the most breathtaking places in the world.

Before downshifting back to first gear to close this fun edition, let's move into reverse for a second to remember our future generations. Please endorse www.girlsgotech.org an organization that encourages girls to keep interest in math, science, and technology as they manuever through academia. The MBA process alone exemplifies why women should continue to sharpen their analytical as well as creative skills.

Special welcome to Harvard Business School's Latino Student Organization (LASO), who registered within our forum as a collective group.

We'll see you when school starts to celebrate MBADiversity.com's One Year Anniversary.

K.D.
