In-between Issues: Postcard from the ATL

Bang, Bang!

Joe Cuba spins excitedly in the CD player. My Puerto Rican friend, Abigail, has lead me knee-deep into the dynamic world of the Latino. I just had my first glass of horchata, a popular beverage made of rice, milk, cinnamon, and sugar. Delicious.

The Latino culture- from Mexico, Cuba, South and Central America to Puerto Rico, the Caribbean and beyond- have similarities as a whole, but also distinctive subcultures within the Hispanic umbrella. Latinos now make up more than 12% of the American population, and is the fastest growing ethnic population in the States.

On a company front, we're not taking the summer off. We're behind the scenes, working hard to grow this initiative. That being said, MBA Diversity has now partnered with The Princeton Review(TM), for a limited time. They're offering GMAT prep advice and a discount to our registered members until December 15th, 2004.

Check back often, as the MBA Diversity co-branded Career Center will be launching this summer. As a one-stop portal, this functionality of the site will allow companies to specifically recruit current students and alumni MBAs from diverse backgrounds across the nation. More news about that later.

We also have a newly created position on the staff:
Director of Fundraising/Events
If you are excited and believe in this initiative, have experience in writing grant proposals, knowledge of the non-profit industry, good contacts, and a great personality, please contact me at kd@mbadiversity.org
We're a fun, down-to-earth group to work with.

Speaking of which, I'm off to practice my salsa... watch out now!

K.D.
