In Between Issues: Your Personal Brand

How do you define yourself?

Or, in business-speak... what's your "personal brand?".

Rifling through some aging- yet inspirational- mail a friend of mine sent over two years ago. A certain prose stood out from the rest. Through a long season of anxiety and self-doubt, it was what I needed to read at that moment.

Natasha Munson writes:
“I am my own best friend, my own strength. I am being pushed, molded into a beautiful, loving, inspirational woman. I define my life. God defines my life. I am God’s love manifest in human form. I will use the power of God that resides in me to create a life. I Love. I will give that legacy of loving myself to my children and all that I know. God is within me. I will never forget that. God is within me. I can get through, accomplish, and be ANYTHING that I want to be. I am my own strength, my own friend, and my own love. I am complete and powerful. I am beautiful because my spirit is based in love.”

....these affirmations had me shouting "Amen" like up in church. You must know yourself. If your heart (not just your head) is in the right place, don't let others define who you are. Use their negative energy to fuel your fire- not break your soul.

Currently in the process of leaving this particular tranche de vie. Feeling wiser, stronger from lessons learned in the past to the point that I can fully appreciate the latest turn of events. To be continued...

Stay tuned for the Summer issue of The NetWork.
