So, I'm in at Columbia and thank heavens! What a relief!! I feel so blessed.
I was so not looking forward to living in New Haven for 2 whole years. I really wasn't; tho' that school had its own merits. Not in at Wharton.
Open House at Columbia was great...I even got to respond in an actual class we had on entrepreneurship and had the professor vigorously nodding while pointing at me. Hope that's a sign of things to come. Met some really cool people, too. I wasn't sure what to expect but was pleasantly surprised by how open and friendly everyone was.
The CEO of the New York Philharmonic told us about his career after Columbia while we were being wined and dined. He also said there's no way he'd have gotten into Columbia today if he applied because of how difficult it's become.
The Dean, Feldberg, gave the classic "by all indications, this looks to be the best & hottest class ever" speech. More than anything else, it was great to start forming bonds with future classmates. 'Specially at BBSA's party where the bonding was over lots of alcohol & done to the beat of reggae & hip-hop. Oh yea! Y'all know a sis represented. I ain't gonna mention no names, but someone on these boards was all OVER that dance floor, hear?
Catch y'all later. Congrats to everyone who's made it through the application process.
Posted by deeuniverse at April 5, 2004 05:59 PMYa'll should have seen Dee at the party...she was looking HOT!...I almost had to step to her like 'so what's up???' and then I caught myself and realized who she was ;)
