Yea, I know school's started, but I just had to give a sense of the whirlwind of activity that existed leading up to the start of school.
Let's see...there were: BBQs, Happy Hours, Museum visits, B'dway plays, hoop games and on and on. Oh yea, and not a one of these were planned by the school; these were just excited soon-to-be students who couldn't believe they weren't working anymore. The School was busy enough with Orientation coming up...
In hindsight, these student pre-school events were not as relaxed as they could have been...people were on their Ps and Qs and wanted to show that they were worthy of their acceptances. My, my...how things have changed! But we'll get to that in a later post. Suffice it to say that your girl thoroughly enjoyed every second of her time as a non-working bum, and not-yet student. I savored it! You would've, too.
Looking back, these pre-school events were terrific for enabling attendees to get to know one another before school started. The faces you saw prior to Orientation tended to stand out somehow, and that's definitely worth the trouble it was to make it to those events.
