Hey people,

Things are going well. Second year feels so different than 1st year. My schedule is much more flexible. It's weird though. For example instead of having a 1 1/2 hour class Mon and Wed. I'll have a 3 hour class on Monday. It's so difficult to not procrastinate. I mean you can imagine how easy it is to put off doing an assignment when you have Mon night, Tues night, Wed night , Thurs night, etc to actually get around to it. What usually ends up happening is that it's Sunday and I'm like 'Oh Crap!'

Maybe it just takes some time to get adjusted, I don't know. :-) Other than that though, things are well. Recruiting season has started and I just came from a pretty good presentation by Citigroup. They were talking about their Global Consumer Group Management Associate Program. Its seems pretty interesting its a two year rotational program, with the possibility of an assignment overseas after your first year. My friend who is in it now just left for London for the next 6 months.

I'm still waiting to hear from L'Oreal, but I'll definitely post once I do, keep me in your prayers, and my family as well.

take care!

I'm back

OK I know it's been a while, but here I am, back fresh from the National Black MBA conference in Houston. It was off the hook! I wanted to make the event last year but unfortunately I was on crutches at time so I couldn't.
It is just unbelievable to be surrounded by so many talented people of color at the same time. I know we're out there, but the concentration made it magical. About 25 of us from the Black Business Students Association at Columbia went out together. We stayed at the Magnolia hotel...I highly recommend it, it was PLUSH :-)
You know the best part about being at the conference was that it was in the South, so everyone was so polite. I think It was the first time I've ever been called 'Sir', then again, maybe I'm just getting old. :-) For anyone who's never been to National Black, you have to go. It's a collection of the top companies in the world making a concerted effort to diversify their ranks. It's a good feeling to have companies court you.

I know this has been kind of top line, but I just landed an hour ago, and I'm exhausted, plus I have class tomorrow. So, this is it for now, but I'll update you with the details later. (especially the parties!)

later!
