Thank You

Alex - I just read your comment man and all I can say is 'Thanks' I greatly appreciate the feedback. Just stay focused and committed man. I remember how hard it is to study for the GMAT, my life during that time was BORING. I would literally leave work, go to Kaplan, then go home and read, go to bed and do it all again the next day. I remember walking into my house and passing people who were hanging outside chillin and talkin and thinking' damn I just want to be able to chill' but you know what man? They're still there chilling and talking and I'm about to be finished. I'm pretty sure that I wouldn't have rememberd most of those conversations, but I'll always remember the experience that I've had over the last 1 1/2 years. So keep your head up.

I met someone today who was like 'hey, you have a weblog don't you?' I have to say that it's weird whenever I meet people who have read my weblog because when I write I don't think about the fact that anyone in the world could be reading this. If I did that I think it'd be a little too intimidating. I write like I'm writing to a small group of friends.
So just between you and me, here's what's been going on :-)

I just got back from Harvard's AASU conference. It was pretty good I was there on Friday nite and Pharell was essentially expounding on his views of the world in a Q&A. I have to say - I was pretty impressed for a couple of reasons.

1) He came across as pretty modest. I don't know if he really is or not, but that's how he came across.
2) I won't say he was eloquent, but he was a pretty good public speaker. And one of the things that he did that was remarkable was almost completely eliminate fillers from his answers. It sounds like a small thing, but for him to answer questions off the cuff and to not say 'ummm, uhh or ahh' even once was pretty amazing and very noticeable. It made me want to rededicate myself to eliminating those fillers from my vocabulary.

Overall the conference had a good vibe. I met some really positive people including some cool frat brothers who are out in London. I'm always amazed at the dynamism of events like this. The calibre of people is unbelievable.

I went to a real estate panel last nite, hosted by an alumni of Columbia Business School. It was pretty good, it reiterated the fact for me that I need to buy some more property. If you haven't invested in anything people, please do so. We need to start having a stake in our communities. I'm looking at some opportunities so as I proceed with that I'll let you know how it goes!

Hope all is well I have to run so take care!

Hey

What's going on people? Hope all is well. I'm doing pretty well. I'm in a meeting right now on campus - as you can tell this meeting has my full attention :-) I can't wait man - Superbowl Sunday...yeah boi. Being from Boston originally, my team is of course the Patriots. I'm amazed at how many people want the Eagles to win just because they're sick of the Patriots. You know, everyone hates a winner. Now I know how it feels to be a Laker :-)
I'm excited. I just found out that I'm headed to Brazil for Spring Break. Yeah man...Rio...ah yes, can't wait.
I was talking to my sister last nite, she's doing great by the way. Thanks to everyone that showed support and concern. She actually just got baptised last week. Very cool.
Speaking of church, I made it to service this morning. I went to Abyssinian for the early service - brutal to get up that early, but definitely worth it. You know church is similar to the gym for me - it always hard to go, but once I do I'm glad that I did.
On another note - I saw hotel Rwanda last week. Good lord, if you have not seen this movie, do yourself a favor and go see it. It was unbelievable. I mean the things that happened were fairly recent - mid 90's - but I didn't have an appreciation for the severity of the situation until now. Its a good movie, but very very heavy.
Ok, the meeting is ending so I have to go.
Take care!
